Actor and musician David Cassidy died Tuesday. He was 67 and had been suffering from dementia. “David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long,” Cassidy’s family said in a statement. “Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.” Cassidy played the role of Keith Partridge in The Partridge Family beginning in 1970. Cassidy’s musical performances became an international sensation, and his shows regularly sold out, with some resulting in stampedes that injured hundreds.
