Darren Sharper Gets 20 Years for Raping, Drugging Women

Former NFL all-pro safety Darren Sharper was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for raping two women and drugging two others. Sharper originally pleaded no-contest in a deal negotiated with prosecutors across four different states, but a New Orleans judge ultimately intervened, calling the sentence too light and sentencing him to 18 years. The 20-year sentence imposed Tuesday by a Los Angeles judge will be served alongside sentences from other states.
