Dangerous Winds, Tornadoes Hit Plains

The Plains and Midwest were hit with baseball-size hail, heavy rains, and tornadoes Tuesday, with severe storms stretching from north Texas to Nebraska. Five tornadoes were reported in Texas, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri, according to the National Weather Service. No deaths or injuries were reported from the powerful storms. Earlier, the Air Force ordered all of its planes to leave McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas and some at Offutt AFB in Nebraska ahead of the storms.
