Three husbands fear their wives defected from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia to go to Syria—and that they took their nine kids with them. Khadija, Sugra, and Zohra Dawood, from the U.K., have not been in contact for more than a week, as they were accompanied by a 15-year-old son as their male chaperone. The dads last saw their kids in the Saudi city of Medina on June 8. Afterward, 10 of them got on a plane bound for Istanbul—a common stop for those on their way to Syria. What happened to the other two children is unclear. The women are believed to have a brother fighting in Syria.
