Sen. Ted Cruz did not disavow his past criticisms of President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday, telling Martha Raddatz on ABC’s This Week that he doesn’t want to “re-litigate the past.” When Cruz was running against Trump for the GOP nomination, he frequently blasted Trump as unfit to serve as president and a “pathological liar,” among other scathing critiques. “It was hard-fought on all sides and it was vigorous until the end,” the Texas Republican said of the GOP primary. “He won the election. He won the nomination and he won the general election in convincing manner. And my focus is on the country. My focus is we have a new president. We have a mandate.” Cruz added that he will work with Trump in order to ensure that he delivers on his campaign promises.
