Cristiano Ronaldo Leaves Real Madrid for Juventus

Portuguese soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo announced Tuesday that he signed a four-year deal to leave Real Madrid and join Italian club Juventus, netting himself an annual salary of around 30 million euros. The Guardian reports that the 33-year-old forward has spent nine years with Real Madrid, and that during that time he has won four Champions League titles, two league championships, two Spanish Cups, and three FIFA World Cups. BBC News added that he scored a record number of goals for his club, and was awarded the Ballon D’Or (given to the world’s best player) in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. This summer, Ronaldo played for Portugal in the World Cup, but the team was eliminated by Uruguay in the first round of the knockout stage. His new team, Juventus, has won the past seven titles in the top Italian league Serie A, The Guardian adds.
