Court Dismisses Berlusconi Charges

An Italian court dismissed charges of corruption against former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, saying the statute of limitations had run out. Berlusconi had been accused of paying British lawyer David Mills $600,000 to lie during two trials in the 1990s. Berlusconi had denied any wrongdoing, although the case is just the latest in a long string of legal problems for the billionaire media mogul, although he has been acquitted in all of them or they have been thrown out due to statute of limitations. He did not appear in court on Saturday.
