Cosby Returns to Stage With Sexual-Assault Retrial Looming

Former comedian and accused serial sex abuser Bill Cosby returned to the stage Monday night for the first time since more than 50 women came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct in 2015. Cosby, in his often-seen sweatshirt that says “Hello Friend,” played with a jazz band in Philadelphia to a largely friendly crowd. “I used to be a comedian,” Cosby joked at one point. “I came here tonight to enjoy being with my friends and the musicians and the people who came,” Cosby said after the hour-long performance. He reportedly refused to discuss his looming sexual-assault retrial.
