BUT WHY

Convicted Abortion-Clinic Bomber, Shooter Released From Prison

Rachelle “Shelley” Shannon, who was convicted about 25 years ago for shooting an abortion doctor in Wichita and then firebombing clinics in three states, was released this week from federal prison. Shannon will temporarily stay at a halfway house, according to local reports. She was responsible for the 1993 shooting of George Tiller—who was wounded but survived—and for a series of bombings and arson in Oregon, California, and Nevada.
