Comey Friend: Trump’s Wrong, Memos Didn’t Contain Classified Info

Columbia University professor Daniel Richman did not leak classified information on behalf of former FBI Director James Comey, Richman said Monday. After Comey's firing in May, Comey provided Richman with a memo detailing a February meeting during which President Donald Trump asked Comey to end an investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. With Comey's permission, Richman provided details of the memo to the New York Times. On Monday, Richman said the memo was not classified. His remarks came in response to Trump's allegations earlier that day. "James Comey leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to the media," Trump tweeted at 6:40 Monday morning, apparently in response to a Fox & Friends segment. "That is so illegal!"
