Clinton Debuts on World Stage

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made her first official overseas trip on Monday to Japan. In Tokyo, she called the region "indispensible" to America's plan to bolster cooperation on the global agenda. Clinton is meeting with officials to discuss the economic recession as well as the threats from North Korea. "The North Koreans have already agreed to dismantling," she told the Associated Press. "We expect them to fulfill the obligations that they entered into." Clinton's trip also includes stops in Indonesia, South Korea, and China.
