Climbers’ Bodies Found 16 Years Later

The bodies of two American men who disappeared 16 years ago in a Himalayan avalanche were found in Tibet by climbers on Friday. Alex Lowe, 40, a celebrated mountain climber, and David Bridges, 29, his cameraman, were reportedly discovered on Shishapangma peak, where they had been making a documentary for NBC Sports. Lowe was regarded by many as the best mountain climber in the world. “Alex and David vanished, were captured and frozen in time,” Alex Lowe’s widow, Jenni Lowe-Anker, said in a statement late Sunday. “Sixteen years of life has been lived and now they are found. We are thankful.”
