Christina Aguilera Arrested

After flubbing the National Anthem at the Superbowl and then redeeming herself at the Grammys, Christina Aguilera has had some ups and downs of late. Early Tuesday morning, the songstress hit another low point when she was reportedly arrested for public intoxication in West Hollywood with her 25-year-old boyfriend Matthew Rutler, who was given a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence. (Some reports claim Aguilera was detained, not arrested.) The L.A. County Sheriff's department has reportedly set Rutler’s bail at $5,000 and Aguilera was released from jail. The sheriff’s spokesman told the Los Angeles Times they will not seek criminal charges against her. TMZ’s police sources say Aguilera was "extremely intoxicated" and "unable to take care of herself," while other sources close to the singer say they have been encouraging her to enter rehab for weeks.
