Chris Brown Nixed as ‘Daily Show’ Guest

One day after The Daily Beast reported that Daily Show staffers were unhappy with the decision to book Chris Brown, the controversial singer’s scheduled appearance on the program was canceled. Many writers and producers took issue with Brown’s violent past and pattern of aggressive behavior, and host Trevor Noah allegedly suggested he’d use the interview as a chance to discuss domestic violence in a frank and meaningful manner. That interview and performance never happened, however, as Brown was abruptly removed from the guest list for Tuesday evening’s show. No reason for the cancellation was given, and rapper and actor Nick Cannon appeared in his place.
