China Censors 400+ Cruise Ship Deaths

Just over a dozen passengers have been rescued from a Chinese cruise ship carrying more than 500, but the Chinese media is being forced to focus on the successful rescues. Even as finding survivors becomes less and less likely, Chinese media outlets are being told to keep reporters away from the scene and to use state-issued materials. They are also being blocked from talking to families. The ship’s name, Eastern Star, was the most censored term on social network Weibo, with questions about the captain ignoring bad weather reports being deleted.
