Cat Launches Campaign for Senate

The campaign claws will definitely be coming out in the race for U.S. Senate in Virginia this year. Partly thanks to Hank, a furry feline said to hail from Springfield, Va., who launched a faux campaign on Monday with an election video, a website, and social-media outlets on Facebook and Twitter. Hank even released an official head shot where the adorable cat is clad in a miniature plaid tie. Hank joins former Virginia Govs. Tim Kaine (D) and George Allen (R), who are vying for the seat being vacated by current Sen. James Webb (D) in what is expected to be a hotly contested race. Hank gained more than 350 Facebook “likes” by late Monday afternoon and tweeted that he would be appearing on Fox’s D.C. station Monday evening.
