Disney and Pixar’s Cars 2 sped into first place this weekend, a solid debut for the G-rated animated sequel. The movie grossed $68 million, shooting past industry expert’s $50 million prediction, but didn’t provide much relief for Hollywood’s 3D downslide. Less than half the total gross came from 3D screenings. Bad Teacher, the summer’s second female-dominated comedy after Bridesmaids, took in $31 million, but was given a weak C+ rating by CinemaScore. The Green Lantern racked up $18.4 million in its second weekend.
