DEADLY TOURISM

Canadian Woman Killed by Whale

Mexican police said a Canadian woman died after she was injured by a gray whale that collided with a tourist boat off Cabo San Lucas on Wednesday. The 35-year-old woman was on a tour boat returning to port when a whale jumped out of the water and landed on the craft, firefighter commander Juan Carvajal Figueroa said. The woman was taken to shore and treated at a nearby clinic before she died. The crash happened about a mile from the shores of the beach town, according to the Baja California Sur state prosecutor’s office.
