A California family who had to leave behind their dog Madison when evacuating from the deadly Camp Fire were greeted by the loyal pup upon returning to their home on Thursday. When the family returned they found Madison watching dutifully over their property. The dog had waited weeks, through the fire and storms that followed for her owners to return. Shayla Sullivan, a volunteer rescue worker, found Madison after the fire and left out food for her. “He had stayed to protect what was left of his home, and NEVER gave up on his people!” said Shayla Sullivan, the rescuer who found Madison.
