Calif. Nixes Anti-Gay Marriage Bid

Happy Pride weekend, everyone. California's Supreme Court rejected a bid to halt same-sex marriage, so the weddings will go on as planned—and there's no need to rush. On Saturday San Francisco’s City Hall stayed open staffed entirely by volunteers as hundreds applied for marriage licenses in the wake of Friday’s court ruling that gay marriage can resume. On Friday, the two women who appealed Prop 8 were married at San Francisco’s City Hall. And just outside of City Hall, celebrations for Gay Pride weekend are expected to swell by 20 percent.
