Brett Kavanaugh Accrued ‘Tens of Thousands’ in Debt Over Baseball Tickets

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh racked up “tens of thousands” of dollars in credit card debt by buying Washington Nationals tickets for himself and a “handful” of his friends, according to his financial disclosures and White House spokesman Raj Shah. The Washington Post reports that Kavanaugh said he had “$60,000 to $200,000” in debt over three credit cards and loan in 2016, but the amount had been paid off either in part or in full by 2017. Shah said Kavanaugh’s friends paid him back for the tickets and the newly minted nominee has “stopped purchasing the season tickets.” Season tickets at Nationals stadium vary in price depending on the location of the seats, but the Post reports that seats near the dugout go for up to $6,000 per person.
