Boy Scouts May Lift Gay Ban

This is progress—sort of. The Boy Scouts are considering allowing gays in the organization, as long as there are no openly gay adult leaders. The executive committee proposed the change, which will be voted on in May by the 1,400 members of the National Council. “Scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether homosexual or heterosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting,” the report says.
