Bomb Explodes in Belfast

A bomb exploded outside Britain’s domestic spying agency’s office in Northern Ireland on Monday, as London transferred police and justice powers to Belfast. An elderly man was wounded in the attack, which was carried out by the “Real IRA”—the same Republican group that killed two British soldiers last year in the deadliest attack in Northern Ireland in more than a decade. Britain and Northern Ireland are expecting a rise in the level of unrest as Britain continues to hand more power over to Belfast.
