In the midst of seven days of national mourning, the body of Poland's first lady, Maria Kaczynska, was flown home to Warsaw. There it will lie in state alongside the remains of her husband, President Lech Kaczynski. They were the highest-profile victims of a plane crash that killed 96 people on Saturday, including dozens of senior officials. The president and his wife will be buried Sunday. Meanwhile, an investigation into the crash by Russian officials has already shown that the President’s plane had ignored several weather warnings as it tried to land. The government has also attempted to resume activity and acting President Bronislaw Komorowski will announce the date for an emergency presidential election on Wednesday.
