Billy Bush and NBC have reportedly reached a settlement on his contract with the network, officially ending his time at Today after the revelation of a 2005 tape in which he and Donald Trump discussed groping women. Bush joined the show in August, signing a three-year deal that would earn him $3.5 million every year. He was previously suspended from the show when details of the Access Hollywood tape were first reported.
In a note to staff, Today show chief Noah Oppenheim said Bush would be leaving the show “effective today” and wished the “valued colleague and longtime member of the NBC family” “success as he goes forward.” In his own statement, Bush said, “I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends, and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead.”
