Memorial Day

Biden Joins Mourners at Arlington

Though President Obama was forced to cancel his Memorial Day appearance at an Illinois cemetery due to rain—an absence that hasn’t gone unnoticed among conservative bloggers—Vice President Joe Biden laid the traditional wreath at Arlington National Cemetery and gave a speech to honor “the finest military the world has ever produced.” He also took time to stop by Section 60 to honor the lost veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Another Memorial Day tribute will be held today in New York, where a restored B-17G Flying Fortress bomber will drop flowers into the Atlantic Ocean near Ground Zero.
