Beefy, New Velociraptor Discovered, A Dinosaur Relative

We think this calls for another Jurassic Park film: Archaeologists have discovered the fossils of a dinosaur the BBC calls “a beefy version of the predatory Velociraptor” in Romania. It is six- to seven-feet tall and has two claws on each foot, as opposed to the velociraptor’s single claw on each foot. It is believed to have lived 70 million years ago when sea levels were higher and the area of Romania was an archipelago. It has been given the scientific name Balaur bondoc, which means “stocky dragon.”
