Bannon: Martin Luther King Jr. ‘Would Be Proud’ of Trump

In an interview with BBC’s Newsnight, former White House political strategist Steve Bannon predicted that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would be fired “very shortly” and that “Martin Luther King would be proud” of President Donald Trump, according to an edited recording obtained by The Hill. Bannon, who was in Prague for a debate with former special counsel Lanny Davis, said Rosenstein “either… is going to take the direct order of the president of the United States or I think Rosenstein will be fired.” He also said that civil-rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. would he proud of Trump and “what he’s done for the black and Hispanic community for jobs.” Bannon also called alt-right and white nationalists like Richard Spencer and David Duke “cranks,” and said they only exist because “MSNBC and BBC is down there with a camera, giving them a platform.”
