B. Smith was found in a Manhattan diner 14 hours after she was reported missing from her Sag Harbor home. The ground-breaking model and restaurateur was found by her daughter at La Parisienne Coffee House at 7th Avenue and 57th Street. According to friends, Smith went on the Hampton Jitney to return home Tuesday night, but then got back on it to return to the city. The 65-year-old Smith has Alzheimer’s disease, but her husband said she has never wandered or gotten lost before. Smith was one of the first African American models to be on the cover of Mademoiselle, opened three restaurants, and became a successful designer and decorator.
