Auction Features Jean Harlow on Bearskin Rug

A 1934 custom print and accompanying negative of actress Jean Harlow on a white bearskin rug, shot by George Hurrell for Vanity Fair, was among the thousands of Hollywood items sold at the Profiles in History auction in Calabasas, California, on March 26 and 27. The Harlow shot, which went for $13,000, was taken at the starlet’s home and is just part of a collection amassed by Michael H. Epstein that includes “every iconic image of ‘30s and ‘40s glamour photography by every major photographer,” said the auction house’s president.
