As the death toll in Nice has reached at least 84, French officials said at least 10 children were among those killed. At the city’s overwhelmed Lenval children’s hospital, where at least two died during surgery overnight, officials said 50 minors were treated and reports indicate 28 remained at the facility, with several in critical condition. The AP reported hospital officials were asking parents of its pediatric patients to come take their children home to make room for the stream of victims. Footage of the attack showed parents fleeing with strollers, and witnesses said adults were throwing children over fences to get them out of the truck’s path. Friends and relatives reported Sean Copeland, 51, and his son, Brodie, 11, of the Austin suburb of Lakeway, died of injuries sustained in the attack.
