A 22-year-old soccer fan has died in Argentina after being thrown from the stands at a match in Cordoba, Argentina, on Saturday. Emanuel Balbo had reportedly argued with fellow fans at a match between the home team, Belgrano, and the visiting Talleres team. After a man accused Balbo of secretly supporting the rival team, he was pushed from the stands, plummeting about 16 feet to the concrete stairs below. Doctors declared him brain dead upon his arrival at a hospital later that day, and he died of his injuries Monday, the BBC reported. Four people have been arrested over the incident and the Argentine Football Association has condemned the attack, demanding that “those responsible for this inconceivable assault” be brought to justice.
