Richard Blumenthal, you may have company. Rep. Mark Kirk, the Republican congressman running to fill President Obama's former Senate seat in Illinois, has admitted that he falsely claimed a military award on his resume. Kirk did not win the "Intelligence Officer of the Year" award for his time in Serbia. But the error occurred more than once. According to The Washington Post, Kirk made a remark on C-Span in 2002 about the false recognition. Word of the misrepresentation first appeared in The Post, but the Kirk campaign said that they caught the error on their own, and have fixed the campaign's website where it was posted.
