A second Aleppo medical facility was hit in an airstrike early Friday—the second such attack in seven days—as a spike in bombings and clashes in rebel-held areas has killed at least 123 civilians, including 18 children, in the past week. The attack on the clinic in the Al-Marja neighborhood injured several people, including at least one nurse, civil defense officials said. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 71 civilians—including 13 children—have been killed by rebel shelling in the government-controlled areas of the city this week. The British-based monitoring group said eight additional civilians were killed by government airstrikes into areas not under its control in the city. The report comes a day after the UN envoy for Syria called on the United States and Russia to intervene and help restore the war-torn nation’s stalled peace talks.
