Authorities say that the death toll may rise in the crash of an Amtrak train that slammed into a tractor-trailer rig at a crossing. So far, at least two people have been confirmed killed, the truck driver and the train conductor. But Dan Lopez, a spokesman for the Nevada Highway Patrol, said more deaths could be confirmed as investigators dig deeper into the wreckage. The wreckage is currently considered unstable and dangerous to go through. “We know that people have seen bodies, but we can’t get to them in the wreckage. The biggest thing right now is the safety of the workers,” Lopez said.
