Double standard

America's Iran Hypocrisy

In the wake of a thwarted Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the U.S., American officials have exhibited baffling hypocrisy in voicing their outrage, writes Nicholas Goldberg at Opinion L.A. Quick to condemn Iranians for using "our soil as their battleground," U.S. attorney Preet Bharar seems to have forgotten America's most celebrated military victories in the recent past. Didn’t the U.S. government assassinate Al Qaeda member Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen a few weeks back? And Osama bin Laden on Pakistani soil before that? The American government needs to examine the double-standard of their actions before attacking another country again--whether with rhetoric or drones.
