Americans Want Bush Investigations

Former president Bush’s errors may be following him out of office: According to a poll by USA Today and Gallup, nearly two-thirds of Americans think “there should be investigations into allegations that the Bush team used torture to interrogate terrorism suspects and its program of wiretapping U.S. citizens without getting warrants.” Nearly four in 10 Americans want criminal investigations, while about a quarter want an investigation without criminal charges. Both the House and Senate Judiciary Committee chairmen, John Conyers and Patrick Leahy, have proposed commissions to investigate, and President Obama said on Monday that he’d look into it.
