The Alpha Phi sorority said on Thursday that they don't support the Safe Campus Act, a campus sexual assault bill proposed in Congress over the summer. This is a clear break from the rest of the National Panehellenic Conference. The bill would keep colleges from investigating sexual assault cases unless the alleged victim also reports to law enforcement. In these situations, a criminal investigation would have to precede any adjudication from the school. Alpha Phi said that their members who are survivors should be given a choice as to how they want to handle their cases.
