Accused ‘Capital Gazette’ Shooter Indicted on 23 Counts

Jarrod Ramos, who allegedly killed five people in the Capital Gazette newsroom shooting last month, was indicted on 23 charges, Anne Arundel County prosecutors announced Friday. The Baltimore Sun reports that Ramos was charged with five counts of first degree murder, along with “attempted murder, assault, and weapons offenses.” Ramos is accused of killing five newspaper staffers, attempting to kill another, assaulting six, and “using a firearm in commission of a crime of violence against all 11 victims.” Ramos allegedly held a grudge against newspaper after it published a story about him pleading guilty to harassing his high-school classmates in 2011. He attempted to sue the paper and the article’s author.
