About 300 Patients Contacted USC About Accused Gyno George Tyndall

Some 300 people have contacted the University of Southern California about George Tyndall, a former campus gynecologist who has been accused of decades of sexual misconduct, the Los Angeles Times reports. The university is said to have begun to share the names of patients with the Los Angeles Police Department as it begins a criminal investigation, but did not disclose how many names were shared with detectives. Capt. Billy Hayes, who oversees the Robbery-Homicide Division where sex-crime detectives are based, said detectives would “triage the investigations in a way similar to how it handled multiple allegations against Hollywood figures such as Harvey Weinstein,” including allegations that dated back several years with no physical evidence to corroborate. Tyndall is also under investigation from the Medical Board of California, but the scope of the inquiry is “unclear.” More than 200 professors at the university are calling for USC’s president to resign amid the scandal.
