588 Troops Removed From Positions

The Army announced Wednesday that more than 500 members have been moved out of “position of trust” jobs, including sexual-assault counselors and recruiters, after a review revealed a range of infractions, such as sexual assault, child abuse, and drunk driving. After Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel madated a review of the qualifications of personnel as an effort to combat sexual assault in the military, 588 of 20,000 investigated Army workers were found to be unfit for their roles. It is unclear whether they have been kicked out of the service or reassigned.
