4 Teens Arrested in School Shooting Plot

Police said they believe they’ve thwarted a mass-shooting plot at a northern California school after arresting four teens. The Tuolomne, California, high-school students, all male, allegedly planned “to come on campus and shoot and kill as many people as possible,” Tuolomne County Sheriff James W. Mele said at a news conference Saturday. The teens had detailed plans that “included names of would-be victims, locations, methods in which the plan was to be carried out,” Mele added. The teens confessed and three were arrested Wednesday while a fourth was detained Friday on suspicion to commit assault with deadly weapons. The arrests came just a day after a gunman killed nine people at an Oregon community college.
