2 Men Jailed for Plot to Kill Americans

Two men were sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for trying to join al Qaeda and training to carry out attacks on U.S. military in Afghanistan, the Justice Department said Monday. Sohiel Omar Kabir, 37, and Ralph Deleon, 26, were found guilty in September of conspiring to provide support to terrorists as well as conspiring to kill U.S. military and government personnel. Deleon was also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, or maiming overseas. Prosecutors said the two trained at California firearms and paintball venues in preparation to go to Afghanistan.
