    FROM BORDER TO COURT

17 States Sue Trump Administration for Migrant Family Reunification

Seventeen U.S. states are suing the Trump administration to “force” them to reunite immigrant families who were separated at the border under Trump’s policy, according to an Associated Press report. The states—which include Washington, New York, California and Illinois—filed the suit in Seattle’s U.S. District Court Tuesday after the practice at the border left about 2,300 migrant children separated from their families. They claim that the administration denied migrants “due process and their right to seek asylum.” The president signed an executive order to end the policy last week, but did not specifically outline if children will be returned to the care of their parents.
