11 Killed as Pakistanis Vote in Polls

Gunfire broke out between two rival political parties Saturday, killing eleven people as the Pakistani public voted in local elections. It was not immediately clear which two parties were involved in the violence. The political opposition, led by former cricket star Imran Khan, hopes the polls will help build a national coalition to challenge Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party in the next general election.
